This full-time position in the Indonesia-Australia Forest Carbon Partnership Office is responsible for supporting and assisting on implementation and administration of the communications program.
The IAFCP is co-managed by representatives of the governments of Australia and Indonesia to strengthen Indonesia’s participation in REDD+ (reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation) through technical support and the development of REDD+ demonstration activities.
Functional Relations
This position:
- Reports to the IAFCP Communications Manager or to another officer of the IAFCP with delegated authority in the absence of the Communications Manager
- Participates and is secretary of a weekly communications team meeting
- Supports all areas of the Communications Unit of the IAFCP
- Works closely with the administration and operations staff of the IAFCP Partnership Office and the KFCP Communications Officer and programme staff.
- Works closely with freelance editors, translators and writers on coordination of assignments.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in the workflow and logistics of communications materials such as publications, media outreach, internal documents, website content and external media products produced by the Communications Unit or by freelance contractors.
- Arrange external and internal meetings.
- Assist in the translation of basic communications materials.
- Record and coordinate the distribution minutes of communications team meetings.
- Assist in the development of communications procedures and policies and coordinate work in progress.
- Support and work with KFCP field communications officer on communications activities.
- Support the development of materials and logistics for events.
- Maintain and develop mailing lists of key stakeholders.
- Monitor media monitoring reports and disseminate relevant information to staff and stakeholders, as well as identify relevant stories to be put on website.
- Assist in the production of communications content and multimedia for the website.
- Other duties as required from time to time to support the efficiency and effectiveness Communications Unit, the Facility administration and the programs it supports.
Ideal Person Specification
- A degree (advanced level university degree preferred) in communications, public relations, journalism or related field. Or a diploma and at two years’ experience in a related field.
- Experience working for a government agency, international organization or large company.
- Strong organizational, administration and planning skills.
- Excellent speaking and writing skills in English and Indonesian.
The position is based in Jakarta. The assignment will initially be for 10 months, but with an opportunity for extension depending on renewed funding.
