Aboriginal Communities and Friendship Centres in Google Earth

The Aboriginal Canada Portal has provided a kml of communities and friendship centres across the country. You can access it here:

In an effort to better acquaint people with the Aboriginal communities and friendship centres of Canada we have created a placemark file that, when used in conjunction with the Google Earth, allows users to virtually visit these communities.

Open the Aboriginal Communities and Friendship Centres .kml file and your Google Earth Application with launch with all First Nation, Inuit and Métis communities, as well as the friendship centres, highlighted on the globe.

These maps were produced by the Aboriginal Canada Portal (ACP) for the purpose of displaying the approximate geographic location of Aboriginal communities and friendship centres. Although efforts have been made to ensure that the data is both current and accurate the ACP does not assume any liability deemed to have been caused directly or indirectly by any content on its Web site.

Note: Global Forest Watch Canada also has a First Nations Communities shapefile, available here: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=60df3fe0ce1b4800930c42d67bfb745a
