Chartwell Consultants Ltd. is a dynamic natural resource-based consulting firm with offices in North Vancouver, Squamish, Sechelt and Chilliwack. We are currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a GIS Technician position in our North Vancouver office for a one-year term. The successful candidate will provide mapping and analytical support to staff and clients. Chartwell is looking for a self-motivated individual who has strong organizational skills and works well independently and in a team environment.
The successful candidate must possess the following:
- Experience using ESRI software products for mapping and analysis
- Superb oral and written communication skills with attention to customer service
- Exceptional troubleshooting abilities
- Canadian citizenship or legally qualified to work in Canada
Other desirable criteria are:
- Working knowledge of operational forestry or other natural resource-based mapping
- Excellent cartographic and data management skills
- Experience with Cengea Systems
- AML programming, VB/VBA, or Python scripting experience
- MS Access, FME, VNS, or AutoCAD skills
- Familiar with BC Government ESF applications including FTA and RESULTS
- Familiar with TRIM, VRI, DRA, CWB and other BC government datasets
