New book “Living Proof” is at the press

Over five years in the making, Living Proof, has completed pre-press colour plate checks and should hit the presses Monday November 16, 2009. This is a follow-up to the indigenous use and occupancy guidebook Chief Kerry’s Moose, published in 2000 with the Union of BC Indian Chiefs.

Living Proof is a true best-practices methods book for achieving high quality indigenous cultural data collection. At 486 pages, and with hundreds of maps and an equal number of photos and charts, the book will both help to organize the entire discipline of use and occupancy mapping and set out a clear path for how to achieve the highest quality cultural data collection. The book is authored by Terry N. Tobias and published by Ecotrust Canada and the Union of British Columbia Indian Chiefs.
