ENVIRONMENTAL/LAND USE PLANNER


The Regional District of Central Okanagan

The Development Services department is currently seeking an Environmental/Land Use Planner to
join our development team. The Environmental/Land Use Planner is responsible for the
development of planning programs that provide for improved environmental conservation
practices within the Regional District of Central Okanagan. The Environmental/Land Use Planner
will review and process development applications based on land use bylaws, regulations and
policies and will ensure that all plans and policies of the Regional District reflect an integrated
program toward sound environmental conservation practices.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Sciences, or
Environmental Planning from a recognized post-secondary institution with 3 years experience in a
related field. Membership is required in the College of Applied Biology of BC and Association of
Professional Biologists, and the Canadian Institute of Planners. The successful candidate will be
proficient in computers and have a working knowledge of ArcView. A valid BC Drivers’ License is
required.
