JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
As an experienced professional, you are a results-oriented team player who has demonstrated success in providing GIS services to a variety of clients. The full-time position requires competency in the field of Geographic Information System (GIS). Specific responsibilities may include:
- Apply your passion for GIS and interest in developing business to augment our GIS services for government and industry clients primarily situated in Alberta
- Deliver innovative and timely GIS services to internal and external clients
- Working closely with Timberline business line leaders to provide GIS services
- Independently and as a member of a team prepare proposals in response to RFPs, RFQs and RFIs
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a self-motivated individual who is adapt at working independently or as part of a team with fundamental technical understanding and ability of GIS services to complement an entrepreneurial and customer-focused mind. Additionally, it is essential to possess strong interpersonal and communication/presentation skills to develop and maintain productive client relationships. Technical qualifications may include the following:
- Minimum of 4-5 years experience in GIS services
- A strong and current knowledge of ESRI products
- An appreciation of open source GIS solutions
- Proven knowledge and experience delivering GIS projects
- University degree in computer science, geography (GIS), natural resource management, or equivalent education and experience
- Working knowledge of Project Management experience, Alberta GIS initiatives, and an understanding of the energy and forestry industries are considered strong assets
