GIS / Land Records Analyst

The District of Sooke, a gateway to the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island and only 45 minutes from downtown Victoria, requires a GIS / Land Records Analyst to join our “GIS team”. Reporting to the Head of Geographic Systems, the GIS / Land Records Analyst is responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining GIS data and metadata within the ESRI spatial databases, and for land property information within the Tempest Land Records Database.

The successful applicant will have:
• A degree from a recognized institution in geography, urban planning, environmental science, resource management, engineering, surveying or related discipline with an emphasis on specific course work in GIS plus 2 years directly related experience in GIS, CAD and data management; OR
• An advanced technical diploma in GIS, or equivalent plus 5 years directly related experience with GIS, CAD and data management.

The salary for this position is $31.20 per hour plus an excellent benefit package.

This is a CUPE Local 374 position.
