Job Description
•Specific tasks will include:
- Provide strategic thinking to develop a GIS system that meets the needs of the client.
- Set standards on the implementation and execution of the database.
- Developing work flows and project specs.
- Assists in the creation and maintenance of GIS metadata and other documentation.
- Oversee and participates in collecting, digitizing, editing, and entering GIS and GPS data
- Train clients and staff on the use of the GIS program.
- Delegates work as needed.
- Performs field work as necessary
• This position within our organization requires the following general attributes or skills:
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the principles of GIS, it uses and application.
- Capable of analyzing processes and developing/implementing programs and applications based on GIS software products.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work at all levels.
- Have working knowledge and ability in Aboriginal relations
- Familiarity with GPS equipment and field data gathering methods also desirable.
4 year undergraduate degree will be considered an asset.
