The School of Design and the Environment (SDE) http://www.sde.nus.edu.sg/ of the National University of Singapore http://www.nus.edu.sg/ is presently embarking on a number of research projects on Sustainable Cities. The focus is on high density Asian cities, and the studies will include benchmarking studies, urban greenery, urban metabolism, urban spaces, transport modeling and urban climatic mapping.
SDE is looking for Research Assistants, Research Fellows and Post-doctoral Fellows of various grades. The candidates should preferably have worked on research projects centered on sustainable issues relating to cities and the built environment. In addition, the following are the basic requirements:
Research Assistants
- Possess at least a good Bachelor degree with a strong aptitude for research;
- Have the capability to undertake large scale research projects under the general guidance of the Principal Investigators, senior researchers and faculty;
- Able to accurately monitor, document and report of research findings;
- Have abilities in data collection, management and analysis;
- Able to assist in report preparation; preparation of scientific manuscripts and other literature for publication;
- Able to contribute to project management, provision of guidance to undergraduate students, and other duties as assigned.
- Candidates with knowledge of GIS and computer modeling techniques would be welcome.
