Compensation: Pay Grade 7 (2008 rates – compensation under review)
$23.26 – 25.58 – 26.87 – 28.20 – 29.62 – 31.11 per hour

Hours of Work: This position works a standard 35 hour work week.

Business Unit Information
Land Information & Mapping is the City of Calgary’s collector and steward of incredibly diverse geographic and infrastructure information used by nearly all City operations.  We meld these with business data, systems and technology to create proactive value-added business solutions for our clients through hands-on consultation and project involvement.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Leader, Cadastral Geospatial Asset Management, this position’s duties will include:
– work with clients, creating maps and analyzing GIS data for the Cadastral Mapping Unit;
– maintain data in a number of GIS databases;
– correspond with internal and external contacts pertaining to digital data exchange and the proper use of geomatics spatial data;
– enter and maintain a complex file management system and assisting in the maintenance of documentation that pertains to new and modified procedures for various integration processes;
– work with team to improve the quality of the spatial information and other technical process;
– perform a variety of related tasks as required;
– Junior Geomatics Cartographer performs entry-level assignments.
Qualifications
Junior Geomatics Cartographers must have a minimum of a technical diploma in a relevant discipline with some experience in surveying, geomatics, drafting or cartography.
