Consider this challenging opportunity within a team environment working under the general direction of the Senior Manager in the Mining Lands Section. As a Lands Technician, you will conduct intensive research and analysis on complex or atypical land tenure issues, assist in carrying out field inspections under rugged, remote field conditions and prepare draft Exploratory Licenses of Occupation, Order-in-Council requisitions, briefing notes, and ministerial orders as directed. You will also produce digital maps and reports and interact daily with interministerial staff, mineral explorationists, mining industry users, and other stakeholders regarding requirements of the Mining Act.

Qualifications:knowledge of the Mining Act, regulations as well as other lands and waters related legislation; knowledge of mineral exploration practices; knowledge of property and land management practices; demonstrated oral and written communication skills; well developed research, analytical skills and judgment; knowledge and ability to use computer software applications such as word-processing, spreadsheets, email, database management, Global Information System (GIS) and digital drafting techniques; ability to work independently; working knowledge of health and safety for bush conditions; ability to operate and maintain various equipment (ATV`s, snowmobiles, watercraft); valid driver`s licence and ability to travel and work in remote and rugged field conditions.
