The Northern Region Highway Engineering group is an ambitious and talented team responsible for the timely delivery of highway design assignments. The Highway Engineering group also provides technical engineering support to senior management, Regional and District staff, the public, and a variety of stakeholders.

Survey services include: completing site and corridor surveys; establishing primary control; obtaining applicable LiDAR, photogrammetry, and Ortho mapping services; completing UTM calculations and map grid transformations; defining survey boundaries for corridor studies;
providing lay-out and as-built surveys, providing 2D/3D CAiCE surveys; preparing base plans; and conducting quality audits on consultant deliverables.

The Senior Geomatics/Survey Technician must demonstrate strong organization and communication skills, as well as a flexible and thoughtful approach. The ability to work productively in a team environment is highly valued, as is the ability to lead and mentor junior
staff.

You bring to the position a post-secondary school technical diploma plus a minimum of 2 years related experience, or secondary education with a minimum of 8 years of related experience. Preference may be given to candidates with transportation surveying experience.

Lesser qualified applicants may be appointed at a lower level.
