Put your technical knowledge in computer-aideddrafting techniques to work for the Ministry of Transportation, whereyou will be an integral member of a progressive and professional team!You will be responsible for editing, processing, preparing, andreviewing engineering, legal and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)deliverables for the planning, designing, construction, and operation oftransportation facilities. Examples of deliverables include legal andengineering survey plans, digital terrain models and horizontalalignments; GIS theme maps, products and services; and digital imagesand photogrammetric plans. In addition, you will produce and maintainEngineering and title records and other map products using plans, deeds,as-constructed drawings, building and entrance permits, utilityrelocates, digital maps, relational databases, and other spatial datafrom ministry sources and outside agencies. You will also providetechnical expertise and assistance to ministry staff and to consultants.
*Qualifications:*knowledge of and experience in the processing ofengineering and legal surveys and in the manipulation of spatiallyreferenced data in a geographical information system (GIS) environment,as well as the ability to interpret and apply survey principles,practices and standards, and related legislation, such as the SurveysAct, Registry Act, and Land Titles Act; skills and experience incomputer-aided drafting techniques using survey and GIS-related softwareand databases, as well as demonstrated understanding of co-ordinategeometry, least squares adjustments and the use of map projections anddatum to prepare geomatics generated products; analytical, decisionmaking skills and judgement; communication skills to relate technicalinformation to staff and clients, as well as effective teamwork skillsto work in a team environment to resolve technical problems and deliverproducts and services within established time frames.
