Would you like to utilize your natural resourcemanagement and information technology background, while growing yourcareer in a dynamic and innovative organization?We are looking for a professional to coordinate specific projectcomponents related to the delivery of the information management activities of the Thunder Bay Geomatics Service Centre. You will provide advanced GIS and remote sensing support, including assisting in GIS project analysis, coordinating GIS projects, conducting analysis usingGIS and/or remote sensing software, and designing simple and complexmaps. You will also conduct queries, generate detailed project reports,and respond to requests for various types of information products.Providing assistance in the maintenance and development of Internet andIntranet sites, and the automation of GIS tasks, will also be componentsof this role.
*Qualifications:*
knowledge of GIS/remote sensing concepts in vector andraster data models, map projections, scale and resolution, accuracy andprecision; experience with digital map production, spatial datamanagement and GIS analysis; organizational skills and ability toprioritize work within tight deadlines; communication skills and theability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and withnon-government clients and partners, as well as the ability to workindependently; knowledge of and experience with GIS software, including ArcGIS; knowledge of natural resource management principles and management techniques; experience with file transfer, file management, Internet technology, Windows operating systems, network protocols, andperipherals; knowledge of and ability to use computers and softwareapplications, including word processing, databases, electronic mail, andspreadsheet applications.
