JOB SUMMARY:

To carry out data entry and assist the collections Research Facilitator. Duties include: entering First Nations language terms into database system; assisting with testing the printing of First Nations fonts from the database onto object labels; and performing other related duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduation plus minimum one year experience. Post-secondary training in museum studies preferred. Experience working with databases and with multi-lingual keyboards and fonts preferred. Knowledge of computerized data entry procedures, professional standards for collections data entry procedures and issues with using multi-lingual fonts. Knowledge of proper collections management processes preferred. Knowledge of the Museum of Anthropology‘s collections, collections processes, and collections management software preferred. Familiarity with Northwest Coast material culture preferred. Awareness and sensitivity to issues concerning collections originating from First Nations and other communities are required. Computer experience required. Effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. Ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines. Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
