Employment Tenure: The intent of this selection process is to create a pool of qualified candidates which will be used to staff positions within the Western Regional Operations Centre. The tenures of available positions will vary: indeterminate, term and acting. Education

  • Successful completion of post-secondary education in geomatics or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or work experience.

    • At least two years of experience in providing Geomatics Services.

    • Experience in the collection/compilation, assessment/analyzing, processing, representation and validation of geospatial data.
    • Experience in using AutoCad to create Geomatics products.
    • Experience in using ArcGIS to create and analyze geographic information.

    • Valid Driver’s License.
    • Willingness to travel

Work Environment

The Canada Centre for Cadastral Management provides an integrated cadastral infrastructure based on the Canada Lands Survey system that leads to an efficient and effective property rights and geospatial infrastructure. This integrated cadastral infrastructure is provided for the lands under the jurisdiction of the federal government which include: the three northern territories, aboriginal lands, national parks and the offshore areas of Canada.

Challenge

Senior Geomatics Technologists collect/compile, analyze and present scientific/geo-spatial data in digital, graphic, chart/map or other representational form; provide technical leadership in the testing and evaluation of new techniques, procedures and equipment and the development of quality control procedures.
