The Integrated Land Management Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands is a client-focused organization that provides a range of services to the public and other government agencies involved in using and managing provincial Crown land and natural resources. Through nine Front Counter BC offices across the province, the Bureau provides a single-window access point for over 100 different types of natural resource authorizations involving over 13 different provincial ministries and agencies.
The Resource Information Technician is responsible for research and analyses of records that provide concise and accurate status information for Crown natural resource applications. This position maintains the accuracy and integrity of a multi-user database and regional maps for unit proposals. The position also creates digital, graphical and descriptive mapping to support natural resource tenure adjudication with the appropriate agency tools and performs data management, data capture, editing and updating. The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys working in the resource management field, is client service and team orientated and eager to work in a variety of challenging roles. Our ideal candidate will have Grade 12 and five years related experience with demonstrated experience manipulating and integrating geographical and statistical data using the Registry Access Tool (RAT) and/or relational database management systems. Related experience also includes: experience creating a variety of digital, graphical and descriptive products, conducting extensive research and data analysis, and applying a structured study or analysis in technical or administrative matters (an organized investigation of a subject, circumstance, situation or matter).
