Two temporary opportunities exist for experienced individuals to support the development and maintenance of Elections BC’s Geographical Information Systems (GIS), mapping products and the Electoral Information System (EIS).
Reporting to the Technical Team Lead, the GIS Technician uses GIS software and relational database management systems to produce and enhance Elections BC spatial products, processes and services. This includes pre-processing of data files prior to loading into the spatial database, reconciliation and updating of spatial data and post-processing of addresses which do not geo-code correctly. This is a unique opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a team-based environment. You may have years of experience working with GIS and spatial database applications or you may be just starting out in the GIS field. Whatever your level of experience and skill, we are willing to invest in your training and development if you are a good fit with our team and if you demonstrate the aptitude for the job.
