Competition #PSC08-ENS12-CB

(Note: Two positions are available, one Term and one Casual)

A recent review of the business operations and mandate of Elections Nova Scotia has resulted in a full restructuring of the agency to better position it as a leader in electoral administration, electoral finance, and promoting public engagement in the democratic process. A recruitment process is now underway to identify those most qualified to transform the agency.

This is a bargaining unit position restricted to current civil service employees represented by the Nova Scotia Government Employees Union. All current employees applying for job competitions are required to include their employee ID number in order to be considered as a bargaining unit applicant. External applicants will be considered if there are no qualified bargaining unit applicants.

Reporting to the Manager Geographic Information Systems, the GIS Analyst is part of a team which is accountable for developing and updating a geographic information system which involves harmonizing digital mapping information with the Civic Address Registry to produce highly accurate and reliable digital and hard copy electoral geography products.

It is an exciting time to be part of the broader Elections Nova Scotia team where employees multi-task, as necessary, to ensure the continuing renewal of the electoral process and fulfill the agency’s mandate of election readiness planning, electoral finance management, and the administration of electoral events.
