Backroad Mapbooks / Mussio Ventures has a great opportunity for someone entering the publishing and mapping industry. We are seeking an exceptional team player who is passionate about maps, adventure activities, and looking for a great place to work and grow with a company.
This position includes technical and graphic work in the creation of maps and digital editions. The incumbent will have a mapping oriented background, with a strong affinity to learning new programs and procedures quickly. We are a small but growing company, and a willingness to participate in tasks other than mapping is an asset.
Specific Duties include:
Working with the Backroad Mapbook maps, from base stage to the final edits.
Creating and updating digital editions of the mapbooks and bringing new ideas on ways to improve the product and process.
Meeting strict project deadlines during the busy season.
Open to participating in other workplace tasks (ie shipping and receiving).
Prerequisites:
Experience using Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, Adobe Photoshop, as well as Global Mapper, MS Word and Excel.
Familiarity with GIS software, including ArcGIS v9 and Mapublisher, and understanding the functionality of GPS units.
Familiarity with Python script would be helpful.
PC Platform experience is essential.
Ability to follow set procedures.
Strong attention to detail.
