Immediate opening
This is a full-time (or possibly part-time during the normal work day) temporary position for up to 4 months for the design of a new interactive maps website. If the design is accepted by the client this project could expand to the development phase for up to an additional 8 months. If other projects follow, it could expand to full time.

Savvy in designing and coding database-driven websites, with associated technology skills/experience:
- On the client side, XHTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, widgets
- On the server side, PHP, SQL, relational databases (MySQL), Apache, authentication
- Optionally, Ruby, Rails, Python, Java; XML databases
- Optionally mapping technologies (KML, geocoding, ArcInfo) would be a plus.
- Optionally Flash, FLEX, AIR
- Documentation, writing only necessary to a degree.
- Excellent English language communication skills are acceptable
- Team communication and workflow skills necessary
GIS ArcInfo experience would be a plus.

EOA Scientific is a small, friendly company. We usually work from home, but this project calls for close contact for the design at least.We may be able to work from home at times, especially if you have a compact task that does not require such contact with the rest of the staff. We are pretty easy-going, but demand a high level of technical competence. This project will be interesting and challenging on many levels. We will have hundreds or thousands of maps that have to beconverted from multi-level AI files, input into a database and accessed through a Flash interface for distribution to the educational Grade Primary to college market. We have a deep-pocket client.
