Self-Governance Initiatives Facilitator, Lheidli T’enneh First Nation

The Lheidli T’enneh First Nation is currently looking to secure the services of an independent contractor to fill the position of, Self-Governance Initiatives Facilitator. The applicant will require significant expertise and experience in community consultation, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and familiarity with provincial and federal treaty processes. The successful applicant will also be required to have a high degree of familiarity with the history of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation and their traditions and culture.

Working closely alongside Lheidli T’enneh leadership and the General Manager the successful candidate will facilitate the required processes to engage the Lheidli T’enneh community in dialogue and planning processes that will solidify the community’s vision of self-governance.

Qualifications and Skills

•A minimum of five (3-5) years of related experience;
•Excellent computer skills, MSWord, Excell, Powerpoint, Publisher
•Strategic planning skills and ability to ensure best practices are utilized;
•Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective networks and relationships with all stakeholders;
•Strong leadership, mediation and dispute resolution skills;
•Preference will be given to those of Aboriginal Ancestry and those demonstrating knowledge of Lheidli T’enneh culture and traditional practices.
