Salary: $49,903 – $63,896
Closing Date: 4:00 PM, February 18, 2008 (or until the position is filled)

Under supervision of the GIS Coordinator, this position will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and updating the municipal GIS applications and spatial databases.  Typical duties include:

• Collect field data using Total Station / GPS for inclusion into the county GIS
• Create databases for field data collected and import into the  Municipal Infrastructure Management System (MIMS)
• Create mapping products for departments as required using ESRI and AutoDesk products
• Assist with development of the ESRI enterprise geodatabase server and internet mapping applications
• Provide GIS application technical support to end users
• Provide GIS application / analysis solutions using Open Source, ESRI, AutoDesk and Safe Software products
• Write SQL queries to update/extract database information as well as to permit automated data updating
• Assist with support for the Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) software packages
• Perform other duties as directed by the GIS Coordinator

Education and Experience:

 Diploma/Certificate in GIS.
 Or, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
 Two years GIS experience and municipal government, preferred.
