Job Description:
Chartwell Consultants Ltd. is a dynamic natural resource-based consulting firm with offices in North Vancouver, Squamish, Sechelt and Chilliwack. We are currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of GIS Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will provide mapping and analytical support to staff and clients. Chartwell is looking for a self-motivated individual who has strong organizational skills and works well in a team environment. The successful candidate must posses the following:
– Experience using ESRI software products for mapping and analysis
– Superb oral, written and electronic communication skills
– Canadian citizenship or legally qualified to work in Canada
Other desirable criteria are:
– Working knowledge of operational forestry or other natural resource-based mapping
– AML programming, VB/VBA, or Python scripting experience
– MS Access, XML/GML, FME, MicroStation, or AutoCAD skills
– Familiar with BC Government Electronic Submission Framework (ESF) applications
– Familiar with TRIM, VRI, DRA, CWB and other BC government datasets
