Sustainable Resource Development , Edmonton – The Lands Division is responsible for providing a clear, balanced approach to land management through policy, legislative and regulatory framework that maximizes the long-term benefits for Albertans. Reporting to the Unit Leader, Information Management and Analysis, the Land GIS Analyst is responsible for providing a variety of technical tasks in support of the design, construction, implementation and maintenance of the departments GIS solutions for the branch. As a team member of the Land Information Management and Analysis Unit you would be responsible for the following:

– Design, develop and implement GIS models;
– Perform complex spatial analysis for Lands Division projects;
– Restructure digital data sets, including raster imagery, for inclusion in Divisional projects and GLIMPS spatial applications;
– Manage cartographic and complex natural resource information for prototypes and production of digital geographic implementations;
– Provide custom mapping and spatial database support for Head Quarters Lands Division Managers;
– Design and implement GIS training related to GLIMPS, ESRI, ArcMap and ArcPad; and
– Update and maintain spatial data repositories used by rangeland clients that use the GLIMPS environment.

Knowledge of natural resource science, geographic information systems, and computing systems, in combination with strong project management, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, would make you an ideal candidate for this position.
