Opportunity:

Ministry of Forests and Range, BC Timber Sales (BCTS), Prince George Business Area

You are an expert in spatial analysis and cartographic tools, particularly geographic information systems

As the GIS/Data Analyst you will implement the BCTS corporate Data Integrity Strategy and oversee all aspects of data management in the BC Timber Sales, Prince George Business Area. You will also provide services to the Business Area by managing and conducting advanced spatial data analysis for us in BCTS resource planning and decision making.

You hold an Undergraduate degree in Geography or Resource Management with at least 2 years of experience, or a College diploma with 4 years experience, in 3 of the following (preferably all) fields:

– Resource management
– Forest technology
– Land use planning
– Forest technology and/or environmental sciences
– Transportation engineering/infrastructure
– Remote sensing

You also hold considerable experience in data modelling, relational database systems and data analysis in addition to research analysis of provincial land and resource related issues.
