Are you an analytical thinker and problem solver? Do you have extensive knowledge and experience with geoscience data analysis to assist in the interpretation of large, diverse data sets that play an important role in understanding the geology of the province? If so, then consider this exciting opportunity with the Precambrian Geoscience section, Ontario Geological Survey branch as a bilingual applicationist to help solve geoscience problems and provide project-specific digital data management and technological services for map making using GIS applications. As part of a technical team you will coordinate activities related to geoscience data collection and assist in the design and construction of geoscience products. You will also help solve geological problems using program-specific applications and provide database and technical support to Precambrian Geoscientists.

Qualifications: proficiency in English and oral French at the advanced level; knowledge of current geological concepts, principles and theories related to Precambrian geology; experience in data management techniques and processes; problem solving, organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated experience with GIS software and an understanding of how it is used to address geoscience problems; proven interpersonal, group leadership, conflict resolution and teamwork skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; experience with various computer software and hardware for geoscience applications; current knowledge of mineral industry issues and information technologies; valid drivers license to travel to remote and isolated areas to provide technical support for GIS and GPS technologies.
