Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in Soil Science or related discipline from University or College. Significant related work experience in database management and GIS applications. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Duties:
As part of our Growing Opportunities (GO) initiative, Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives is implementing new initiatives to work with Manitobans in capturing opportunities which support a vibrant and sustainable future by fostering and facilitating a synergy of business and perspectives between the primary producer and the public . We are seeking a progressive and enthusiastic individual to join our team in being a key participant in providing specialized advisory services to an urban-agribusiness clientele and the agri-food sector.
Reporting to the Manager, Soil and Landscape Management Section, the incumbent provides database management and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications related to cartography; prepares soil resource information; and applies new knowledge, technology, methodologies and applications in collecting, storing and disseminating soil resource information for clients.
