Education

  • Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with specialization in biology, geography, or a related field.

Experience

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

o 3-5 years of experience in development and application of geographic information, remote sensing and data management technologies to environmental projects.
o Managing spatial and non-spatial databases
o Providing technical support services to GIS and database users/clients
o Developing computer scripts and programs
o Using ArcGIS (ArcView, ArcEditor, or ArcInfo) v 9.2 software products.

    • A diploma from a recognized Technical Institute in Geographic
      Information Systems (GIS)
    • Experience supervising staff and managing budgets
    • Experience in the use of ArcGIS Spatial Analyst (and other
      ArcGIS extensions) and/or Crystal Reports
    • Experience in the use of ERMapper
    • Experience in MS Office tools including Access, Excel, Word, and
      Powerpoint
    • Experience in the use of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
    • Experience with administering an ArcGIS license server
    • Experience administering data servers and computer networks
    • Experience in providing technical support to cumulative
      environmental effects assessments

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasional travel
Occasional requirement to perform fieldwork

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Basic reliability security clearance
Pre-employment medical examination
Valid driver’s license
