Mapping Technician 2, City of Coquitlam (Coquitlam, BC)

You will lead and perform technical mapping functions including researching, compiling and entering geographic/non-geographic data from drainage record drawings into a computer database using a graphic workstation. You will also research and utilize a wide variety of source data and prepare/revise drawings, maps and graphic materials – principally for engineering related projects.

You are equipped with a combination of relevant education, experience and recognized GIS qualifications. Capable of making an immediate contribution, you can draw on your strong knowledge of:

• computer-assisted mapping and drafting techniques, procedures and materials;
• ArcGIS 8.3/9.x and other ESRI GIS extensions;
• AutoCAD;
• Microsoft applications and related software (Adobe Illustrator);
• GIS analysis;
• basic surveying;
• spatial editing; and 
• relational databases.
