International, Intergovernmental & Aboriginal Rel. , Edmonton – As a member of the Aboriginal Economic Partnerships team, you will play a critical role in implementing the Government of Alberta’s First Nations Economic Partnerships Initiative (FNEPI). You will apply your strong communication, analytical and project management skills to identify issues, develop and implement strategies while participating in cross-ministry initiatives related to the Aboriginal economic development. In addition, you will provide support, based on your thorough knowledge, to the areas of federal/provincial relations, economic development partnerships and capacity building.
As part of a team, through effective leadership, teamwork, and collaboration you will provide support to FNEPI Managers; externally you will represent the Ministry at various cross-ministry committees related to economic, community development, training, and best practices.
Strong relationship building, organizational and time management skills are critical to success in this role. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are necessary to work with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications: University graduation in a related field (Commerce, Social Sciences, or Economic Development) and considerable progressively responsible related experience required. Experience working with First Nations communities in the areas of economic development, business or financial services and a good understanding of accountability and compliance standards are definite assets. Equivalencies will be considered.
