Sustainable Resource Development , Edmonton – We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong interpersonal skills and a good knowledge of public land activity, sketch/survey plans and land conveyance practices.
Reporting to the Unit Supervisor, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical duties to uphold the `Public Lands Act’, policies and regulations related to support the administration of activities on public land. Some of these duties include:
* receiving and examining sketch/survey plan applications/amendments/renewals
* inputting land area/metes and bounds descriptions into the departments electronic/digital record systems
* preparing land conveyance documentation to either purchase or transfer of land, and
* preparing legal descriptions for Orders-in Council and Ministerial Orders.
Your technical skills will assist you in producing automated digital maps showing ownership, dispositions, administrative, informational, developmental; or operational maps for departmental and external clients.
Qualifications: Two year technical diploma in a related field plus several years of directly related experience. Experience and knowledge in computer graphic software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, or ArcGIS) land surveying, mapping techniques and procedures, public land administration with its related policies and procedures, and land conveyance principals would be an asset. Equivalencies will be considered. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary. A valid Class 5 Drivers Licence is required. Final Candidates for this position will be asked to undergo a security screening. This competition may be used to fill future vacancies.
