Environmental Technician/Consultant Position, Centre for Indigenous Environmental Resources (Winnipeg, Manitoba)


CIER, the Centre for Indigenous Environmental Resources, is a national First Nation-directed environmental charitable organisation. We offer research, advisory, education and training services to Indigenous communities, governments and private companies in four program areas: taking action on climate change, conserving biodiversity, protecting lands and waters, and building sustainable communities.

CIER invites applicants for the applicants for the position of Environmental Technician/Consultant. The purpose of this position is to coordinate and conduct fuel tank system tagging and inspections.

Responsibilities:
• Assisting site inspections and fuel tank tagging system program for nursing stations throughout Canada
• Preparing site inspection reports and prioritizing site upgrades for CCME compliance
• Entering data
• Organizing travel associated with site inspections
• Liaising with consultants and contractors involved with facility maintenance

Requirements:
• PMH certificate or PM3 certificate
• Awareness of relevant environmental and Indigenous policy, legislation, and programs
• Superior written and verbal communications
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to balance working independently and working within interdisciplinary teams
• Attention to detail and strong analytical and multi-tasking skills
• Knowledge and proficiency of MS Office applications

The successful candidate is expected to operate in a collaborative team setting and maintain high productivity levels and quality of work. CIER is willing to provide educational upgrades related to inspections.

This is a full-time position. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Although preference will be given to Aboriginal applicants (including First Nation, Metís and Inuit), all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
