GIS Analyst 1

You will perform  professional research, data management and analysis of data within the Engineering Department for citywide use.  You will provide support, direction and training to staff throughout the City; act as a project leader on projects in a preliminary investigation, design implementation and post-implementation review of GIS applications; troubleshoot user and technical problems; customize and support GIS applications with programming tools to meet end user needs; perform data modeling using Visio; liaise with other cities and external agencies and departments in the exchange of spatial, attribute and graphic data.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in a directly related field from a recognized post secondary educational institution plus two years related GIS experience using spatial applications OR, an equivalent acceptable combination of training and experience.  You should posses skills and knowledge in a full range of tools and programming languages including but not limited to: ArcGIS, ArcIMS, ArcServer, ArcSDE and geodatabase management, ArcPad, VB, ArcObjects, and SQL; proven skills in identification of software and hardware problems; current GIS terminology, principles and practices.
