Opportunity:
This is normally a half-time position, however, the successful candidate may be required to work additional hours (possibly up to full time hours) based on operational demand.
Put your expertise in spatial analysis and cartographic tools, particularly geographic information systems to work for our team.
Here is your opportunity to work within the Ministry of Forests, you will provide services to the district staff by managing data and conducting advanced spatial data analysis.
Our ideal candidate will be service and team oriented, eager to work in a variety of challenging roles, a self starter, interested in life long learning and continuous improvement and will play a key role in shaping the forests for future British Columbians.
You will have a technical school diploma in GIS or natural resource management and two years of related and current (gained within the last three years) experience or the equivalent combination of training and experience such as five years related experience. You have demonstrated experience creating a variety of digital, graphical and descritpive products including themes, colour thematic maps, terrain models and associated descriptive statistics. Your demonstrated ability to apply layout and design principles will ensure success in this position. You will have a valid class 5 BC driver’s licence or the ability to obtain one within 30 days.
