Opportunity:
You are an expert in spatial analysis and cartographic tools, particularly geographic information systems

Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources – As the GIS/Data Analyst you will develop and maintain Geographic Information Systems and perform statistical and spatial data analysis for Mineral Titles branch for resource allocation, planning and decision making.

Your primary responsibility will be the creation, analysis and delivery of analytical products to support operational or strategic land-use decision-making and negotiations.

You hold a University degree in GIS, natural resource management, spatial analysis and presentation and two years of related and current (gained within the last three years) experience or Technical school diploma in GIS or natural resource management and four years of related experience or the equivalent combination of training and experience.

Your additional experience includes:
– Manipulating and integrating geographical and statistical data using multiple geographic information systems, applications and relational database management systems (preferably Oracle)
– Creating a variety of digital, graphical and descriptive products including themes, colour thematic maps, terrain models and associated descriptive statistics
– Oracle and the ARC GIS suite of products
– Project management training and experience with contract management are assets.
