Qualifications:
Applicants must have a degree in Geography or Environmental Sciences or a diploma in Resource Management or Geomantic or Geographic Information Systems or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The applicant must have education and experience in the use of Arcview GIS for data manipulation and spatial analysis and experience inputting, formatting, integrating and reporting spatial digital data utilizing Microsoft Access software. Experience in interpreting aerial photography and other remote sensing data is required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required for this position. Education and/or experience with topographic surveys and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) are an asset.

Duties:
Reporting to the Manager, this position is responsible for crating, assembling and analyzing geographical data and technical imagery in support of planning, program delivery and investigative functions using the Geographic Information System with specialized software. The incumbent compiles digital information and related data to support the program delivery and investigative functions of the department’s programs within the Red River, Interlake and Eastern Regions of Manitoba Water Stewardship and other departments as required. This position is also responsible for database design, entry, data integrity, maintenance and reporting. The incumbent assists the section with licensing and enforcement activities through creation of files, circulation of assessment reports and collection of comments.
