Duties:
Under the direction of the Registrar General of Land Titles and under the technical supervision of the Administrator of Mapping and Registry Policy, the primary focus of this position will be to process the required applications, Parcel Description Certification Applications [PDCAs] and Applications for Registration [AFRs] and the supporting documentation for the purposes of mass migration of Crown Lands and other large land holdings into the land registration system. The Property Registration Technician will work with the Crown Lands Mass Migration Team and other large land holders to discuss and resolve complex property problems as they relate to crown land migrations, reviewing and interpreting legal descriptions for the purpose of locating a parcel on the provincial property map with reasonable accuracy and ensuring legislative requirements and content standards are met. S/he will be responsible for checking title interests and references within the records on file in the Land Registration Office, applying technical knowledge of survey plans and ground measurements to plot land parcels on property map. The Property Registration Technician will assist in quality assurance work related to land title conversions and subsequent transactions and land program policy and procedure processes.
Qualifications:
Grade 12 plus graduation from an approved Technical school preferably in drafting, mapping, paralegal or survey principles from a technical or community college or equivalency, with one year experience in a fast paced customer service environment. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of the Registry Act and the Land Registration Act, related regulations, as well as, excellent organizational skills. Preference will be given to candidates who have a good working knowledge of mapping techniques and digital mapping and a basic understanding of crown land records and references. The ideal candidate must possess excellent communications skills to be able to interact with people in a professional manner with a customer focused approach. Additional experience/education in Geographic Information Systems, the Registry processes, PC computer networks, database software, and the handling and maintaining of files contained in a map library would be an asset.

Classification Range: TE 11 – TE 21
Salary Range: $28,130 – $46,860
