Business Unit Information

Land Information & Mapping is a City of Calgary business unit that supports land development and municipal infrastructure by providing land-related information and mapping services to internal and external customers – critical services in a growing city.

 
Responsibilities

Reporting to the Supervisor Cadastral Mapping this position’s duties will include:

  • working with clients, creating maps and analyzing GIS data for the Cadastral Mapping Unit
  • maintaining data in a number of GIS databases
  • corresponding with internal and external contacts pertaining to digital data exchange and the proper use of geomatics spatial data
  • entering and maintaining a complex file management system and assisting in the maintenance of documentation that pertains to new and modified procedures for various integration processes
  • working with team to improve the quality of the spatial information and other technical process
  • perform a variety of related tasks as required
  • Junior Geomatics Cartographer performs entry-level assignments
 
Qualifications

Junior Geomatics Cartographers must have a minimum of a recognized Technical Diploma in a relevant discipline with some experience in surveying, geomatics, drafting or cartography.
