Come join the research team at the Ontario Forest Research Institute for an exciting and challenging career with Ministry of Natural Resources forestry research program. You will provide technical expertise in the acquisition, generation, and analysis of complex GIS/spatial data systems for the Provincial Landscape Ecology program and its clients. Developing innovative techniques to analyze and visualize multi-thematic spatial data, designing new Landscape Ecology/GIS software applications as part of a team and engaging in knowledge transfer will be some of the responsibilities that will challenge you.

Qualifications: advanced knowledge of theory, methods and practices of geomatics and spatial analyses and of concepts, design, manipulation methods and storage of spatial databases; sound understanding of spatial statistics and spatial modeling concepts; demonstrated knowledge of GIS application software and their functionality, including scripting and with computer system technology and software applicaitons; excellent communication, interpersonal and project management skills; proven analytical, evaluative and problem solving skills to analyze complex multivariate spatial data sets; ability with design and development of client-oriented spatial decision support systems; demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment and manage multiple client priorities; knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations.
