Education

Experience

Experience in working with First Nations.

Experience in managing natural resource programs.

Recent experience in interest based negotiations. Recent is viewed as experience in this area in the last 2 years.

Challenge
-
Support the Area Director in the integration of Aboriginal Fisheries Strategy (AFS) into other programs and the overall delivery of the AFS within the area.

Develop and recommend related strategies, approaches and mechanisms, and provide input to Area Business plans, priorities and direction.

Negotiate (AFS) agreements, and provide expertise, support and advice to Area Staff and Treaty negotiators.

Provision and co-ordination of Departmental advice and technical expertise to First Nation Bands and Tribal Councils.

Provision of information and advice to managers and employees of the Government of Canada on matters pertaining to First Nation cultural, political and social needs.

Lead project teams involved in such areas as integrated issues, assessment, area program delivery.
