English essential
Education
Graduation with a degree or diploma from a recognized university or college with an acceptable specialization in soil science, physical sciences, geography, environmental science or another science related to the duties of the position.
Experience
- Significant field experience in collecting soil samples.
- Significant experience in working with large relational data sets in a database management system such as Visual dBase, Microsoft Access and/or FoxPro.
Other Merit Criteria and Conditions of Employment
- The following merit criteria may be required for this position. Applicants should indicate in their application if they meet the merit criteria.
- Experience in soil survey mapping.
- Experience in preparing soil samples for laboratory analysis and/or long-term storage.
- Experience in using GIS to work with digital land resource data.
- CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Reliability Status. This factor is not used at the preselection stage. The hiring department is responsible for the security clearance process.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime.
- Must be able to travel and to conduct field work in remote locations for extended periods (up to two (2)weeks at a time).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
