Job Responsibilities
The Victoria Office of Golder Associates is looking for an Intermediate to Senior First Nation Consultation Expert and Traditional Use Specialist to join the team.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support the development of a rapidly growing Cultural Resource Management Group, as well as assist the design, implementation and execution of projects in the oil & gas, mining, transportation, infrastructure development, land development, and forestry sectors.  The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-going support in the following areas:
•Client service and business development;
•Initiation and management of projects;
•Supervision, training and mentoring of junior staff;
•Executing technical work in areas of expertise;
•Presentations at meetings;
•Preparation of reports and proposals.

Job Requirements
Preferred candidates will possess the following qualifications and skills:
•Undergraduate or graduate degree in a related discipline with 5 to 15 years of relevant work experience;
•Effective oral and written communication skills, as well as presentation and interpersonal skills, including knowledge of communicating protocols in First Nation settings;
•The ability to contribute to a team work environment, as well as to work independently;
•Knowledge and proven experience with social science methods and application, particularly community-based and qualitative research;
•Comprehensive working knowledge of BC First Nations, including aboriginal and treaty rights and claims and regulatory processes and legal decisions related to First Nations consultation;
•Proven experience with the development of Impact Benefit Agreements and other benefit sharing instruments in a First Nations context; and
•The ability and willingness to travel across BC.
