OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUMMER STUDENT EMPLOYMENT
The District Municipality of Muskoka is currently accepting applications for an employment opportunity in our GIS department for students enrolled in post secondary studies.
Using ArcGIS 9.2 and MapInfo 8.5 the GIS summer student will be responsible for the following tasks:
• Maintaining and analysing existing data sets such as the road centreline database, property addressing, and property areas calculations.
• Assigning appropriate line styles, region styles, and point styles to OGDE layers in MapInfo and ESRI.
• Modifying and correcting archaeological polygons from scanned documents to properly reflect the various archaeological zones.
• Printing tasks as assigned.
• Custom mapping tasks as assigned.
Experience with ESRI, MapInfo and Microsoft Access is preferred.
Applicants must hold a valid Ontario Drivers License.
