Salary: $973.70 – $1,265.30 / weekly

Description: Accept this challenging opportunity from the Ministry of Natural Resources where, working in a team environment, you will design and implement a variety of analytical projects at provincial, regional and local scales. In this position, you will provide professional expertise in performing data compilation, modelling and analysis with regard to ecosystem processes, landscape ecology, and protected area system design, planning and management. Projects may involve life science inventories, ecological monitoring, reporting on the state of protected areas, and protected areas planning and management.

Qualifications: Knowledge of/experience in current resource analysis techniques with regard to landscape diversity, natural heritage inventories, water quality and quantity, and/or ecosystem classification; knowledge of/experience with the principles and practices of ecological and biophysical sciences, with emphasis on ecosystem composition, structure, and function, conservation biology, and the natural sciences; knowledge of ecosystem management principles and assessment methodologies as related to protected areas; advanced skills with GIS, relational databases and quantitative assessment techniques; advanced skills in oral/written communications, including the presentation and reporting of technical and scientific concepts to general and specialized audiences; experience in multidisciplinary working environments related to planning, applied science or decision support activities.
