As a self-starter interested in life long learning and continuous improvement you will play a key role in shaping the forests for future British Columbians.

Working as part of the Geomatics team you will use use your technical skills and judgement to capture, create, compile, convert, edit and maintain digital information in a GIS environment. You will structure and manipulate spatial and attribute databases prior to and including Geodatabase populations. As part of the District team you will provide technical expertise to support forest and range resource planning and management for areas such as silviculture, timber harvesting, forest roads, compliance and enforcement, valuation, range and integrated resource management.

As our ideal candidate you will hold a degree in geography with emphasis on surveying and a specialization in GIS plus 1 year directly related experience or; you will have a diploma in geographic information systems or geomatics with specialization in GIS plus 3 years directly related experience or; Secondary School Graduation plus 5 years directly related experience.

In addition to these qualifications you have outstanding organizational, evaluation and communication skills. You have a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence or the ability to obtain one within 30 days.
