Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources – As the Manager, Data and Information Management, you will provide province-wide stewardship, management expertise and leadership in the three mission critical areas of coal, mineral, and placer data and the titles registry systems. You know how to take corporate governance data and systems policy statements and make it work for the operational titles registry. You will advise, facilitate and co-ordinate all activities in the system development life cycle from planning to implementation to maintenance and support and are skilled at trouble shooting and have a talent for coming up with creative solutions. These areas include: titles and supporting geographic data management; provision of GIS services; feasibility studies, systems analysis and design providing direction for Information Management; and enhancing Mineral Title Branch knowledge through education and access to and use of data.
You are a strategic thinker, and are able to juggle assignments with ease while maintaining a positive attitude. Your previous experience includes working with senior government data custodians and managers and you understand how business relationships are best leveraged within government. You have experience analyzing customer requirements and documenting results and are known for your ability to work under stressful conditions.
You bring to the position a Bachelor’s degree in a natural resource field such as biology, geology, engineering, agriculture, environmental science, and geography or computer science. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. You have significant experience in spatial information systems, data management and geographic information systems. Additionally, you manage contracts and complex projects with ease and have previous supervisory experience.
