This is a permanent, full-time position working thirty-five (35) hours per week.

Under general supervision, serve as a GIS resource for spatial data processing, thematic mapping, database management, data collection and output, and systems research and development.

Qualifications

  • Two year Diploma in Geographic Information Systems technology from a recognized, post- secondary institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Two (2) years related experience in the use of GIS, including spatial data processing, thematic mapping, database management and knowledge of relevant software tools.
  • Experience in an urban or municipal government with GeoMedia Professional GIS and AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a changing environment.
  • Knowledge of GIS-based Internet applications.
  • Proficiency in the use of the internet search tools.
 Salary $28.72 (Probationary rate)
  $31.67 – $34.08 (Permanent rates)
