Experience the hospitality of the north. We are seeking qualified individuals to perform technical duties that support forest and range resource planning and management. You will assist in areas such as silviculture, timber harvesting, forest roads, compliance and enforcement, valuation, range, and integrated resource management. You will review forest and range land use plans, licenses, and contracts, as well as recommend amendments.
As our ideal candidate, you hold a degree in Geography with a specialization in Geographic Information Systems or Land Information system, as well as a year of related and current experience. Your equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may also result in your being the successful candidate. You also possess experience in the following areas:
– Ability to capture, create, compile, convert, edit and maintain digital information in a GIS environment
– Ability to structure and manipulate spatial and attribute databases prior to and including Geodatabase populations
– Utilizing data capture and GIS software
– Identifying information/issues, analyzing and developing options, solutions or recommendations
Lesser qualified applicants may be appointed at a lower level.
In addition to these qualifications, you have outstanding organizational, evaluation and communication skills. You also have a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License or have the ability to obtain one within 30 days.
