Ministry of Environment and Agriculture and Lands – Lend your expertise to this productive team. As Spatial Infrastructure Analyst, you will maintain and support a complex information technology infrastructure for spatial technology tools, spatial applications and interactive web services. This includes the web mapping servers for ArcIMS and Open GIS, the resident systems and web services, and the related standards.
This is one of five positions that provides the corporate and public web mapping infrastructure for various resource based ministries and agencies. You will work closely with IT staff in the Information Management Branch (IMB) and Workplace Technology Services (WTS)to support the use of these technologies. You will also be relied on to assist with client’s business needs, to manage contracts from RFP to project completion and to provide support and feedback on application issues and alerts.
You bring to the position a degree in computer science or related discipline and 2 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You are able to clearly demonstrate expertise in the use of ESRI ArGIS software and in the resolution of problems related to ArcGIS.
Experience in the following areas is preferred:
– ESRI ArcIMS, MapServer, GeoServer, Internet Mapping Framework (IMF) and other products supporting Web Map Services and Web Feature Services
– Windows and UNIX Operating systems
– Installation and Configuration of application software on Windows or UNIX
servers
– Oracle and ESRI ArcSDE database software
– JAVA, J2EE, Perl, UNIX shell, batch file, XML and AXL
